LinuxAsmTools - About

What is purpose of this site?

This site attempts to promote assembler by showing that some programmers can easily produce programs and enjoy the process.  All programs and tools here are in assembler.  A secondary goal is to show that non-graphical programming is efficient and well suited to some applications.  It may not look professional, but it gets the job done.

Who developed this site?

All programming today borrows heavly from the past.  The tools, ideas, and most code is based on the work of others.  Everything here is presented in this spirit and is free to use.  The primary site author is jeff owens.

Jeff Owens started programming in the early 60's and initially worked on testing the Saturn boost vehicle (part of moon launch).  Over the years he has worked in many languages and has always prefered assembler.  In the 80's he worked as a independent programmer and wrote several commerical DOS programs.  The best known of these was a disk cache used by PCTools.
